Since the establishment of the company MAHLE – now more than 80 years ago – research and development into new products has enjoyed a high priority for combustion engines. At that early stage, in a workshop for engine tests, MAHLE engineers developed numerous product innovations over the decades which have enabled the modern combustion engine of today to become reality. MAHLE is and always has been a pioneer when it comes to technological innovations for the combustion engine. Around 2,500 engineers currently work in the R&D centers of the Group: in Stuttgart, Northampton, Detroit, Novi, São Paulo, Tokyo and Shanghai. Modern analysis and test processes
From fundamental and materials research to the validation of new calculation and simulation programs through to support in engine and vehicle tests. MAHLE has all modern analysis tools necessary to consolidate our position as a technological leader in the future as well, thanks to the ideas of our development engineers. Around 100 fired engine test stands serve as basic equipment enabling us to optimize and test our products in line with the requirements of our customers.
